On completion of a degree in Ceramics at Canterbury Christ Church University, I have been developing my artistic practice through Locus Arts. I have recently completed a commission for a series of fragmented works, and now work towards gallery work and future exhibitions.

There are two main areas of my current work. Using the vessel form I fragment this and combine the organic lines and smoke firing process to create non-functional vessels. By reuniting the fragments of my vessels to complete the form once more I am able to create a new language within my work.

My sculptures place emphasis on balance, volume and shadow. I am also inspired by the mechanical working mechanisms found in motorcycle engines.

I have recently been looking at the still life creations that the artist Giorgio Morandi used within his prints and etchings.  I enjoy the sense of calm he creates through the groups of forms and how this is united with the cross-hatching method of etching.
